Sadly not 24 hours has passed and battered areas of the Wide Bay & Burnett have another threat – heavy rain! In what is a highly unusual setup for October, we’re seeing yet another large upper trough track in from the west which is likely to cause a rare offshore October low helping to inject moisture into southern and central Queensland. This will combine with largescale storm activity over central inland Queensland (and adjacent areas) to generate local falls in excess of 100mm. Particularly the Wide Bay & Burnett, but also possibly the Sunshine Coast and some areas extending further inland. On the upper hand – this is the biggest rainfall system to hit Queensland in months!
